About Us

David J. LeBeau MFA, is an independent fee appraiser of residential contents and antiques. 

Mr. LeBeau is retired Accredited Senior Appraiser in the American Society of Appraisers and was certified in the Specialties of Antiques and Residential Contents General (1978-2009), and is a Past President of the NYC Chapter of the ASA (1989/90.) Currently Mr. LeBeau is USPAP complaint. 

He served as an Auctioneer and head of both the General Sales and the Arms & Armor Departments with Phillips Son & Neal Fine Art Auctioneers of NYC, and has been employed as consultant to the Arms & Armor Department of Christie's East and was a consultant and auctioneer with Lubin Galleries, both of NYC.

Mr. LeBeau was a member of the founding faculty of the Appraisal Studies Program at Yeshiva University (NYC). The faculty and curriculum was transferred to New York University's School of Continuing Education, where he taught as Adjunct Assistant Professor of Arts. He has also taught Appraisal Subjects at Long Island University's C.W.POST College, Brooklyn; Massachusetts College of Liberal Arts, the Adult Education Programs of Central Berkshire County ,and the Westchester NY Boards of Education. He also has co-instructed the Appraisal Foundations course, "Uniform Standards of Professional Appraisal Practice and Professional Appraisal Ethics" for the Connecticut Chapter of the American Society of Appraisers. He currently lectures at Berkshire Community College in Great Barrington, MA.

The American Society of Appraisers published Mr. LeBeau's technical article, "A Method of Standardization of Terminology in the American and English Decorative Arts" and he has been published online and in numerous traditional publications. He is currently authoring a book about the development of furniture and decorative arts design.
